Microblading at The Beauty Studio Bishopbriggs Glasgow

My name is Selina Stewart and I'm a fully qualified Microblading consultant.

I am fully insured with my first aid training up to date and my room that I practice in is fully licensed.

What is Microblading?

Microblading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a way of implanting pigment under the epidermis using a specially designed tiny blade which leaves thin realistic strokes for the most natural finish. Together we design a brow shape and colour which is totally bespoke to you. Your colour will be mixed from the highest quality LI pigments and they are formulated to match your own eyebrow hair thus, blending perfectly into your eyebrow hair sparse or missing eyebrows can be completely restored With microblading you can create almost any look, from a very natural light finish to a beautiful bold brow. The end result will be a natural fuller looking eyebrow.

Do I need a patch test?

Yes, all clients need a patch test 48 hours before treatment.

How long does it last?

Without maintenance microbladed eyebrows will last about 12-18 months but with regular maintenance your brows will last as long as you want them to. A touch up is recommended every 6 months or yearly depending on your skin type. To some this treatment is more beneficial if you are unsure of making the commitment of having your eyebrows tattooed.

Does it hurt?

There is some discomfort with the procedure. A topical anaesthetic is used to numb the area and will take about 20 minutes to work. After the anaesthetic has taken effect, discomfort is mild.

How long does it take?

I will book a two and a half hour window for your appointment. It will likely not take this long but I like to have lots of time. The preparation of drawing on the shape is what takes the longest.

What does healing and aftercare entail?

Colour boost appointments will take between an hour an and an hour and a half. Aftercare  is very simple. I will provide you with all you need for aftercare and a detailed instuction leaflet sheet.

Do not wax or tint eyebrows 2 days before procedure.

please note that you might be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

Aftercare procedure:

It is essential that you follow these instructions after your microblading session as you will have mild tenderness, redness and swelling can be expected immediately after the procedure and will last for a few hours or up to a day.

you can put a covered ice pack on your eyebrows for a few minutes then take it off then again then just repeat this process.

This will help to soothe and reduce swelling a little.

The colour of your eyebrows will be 30/40% darker and 10/15 % thicker during the first week.

Please don't panic all this is perfectly normal and will fade after 7 days.

Wash hands with a disinfectant soap cleanser before caring out aftercare

Day 1 (Day of treatment ) your eyebrows should be gently cleansed with warm water and a neutral shampoo .

Gently Rub in circles until you can feel the skin underneath your finger.

After washing, gently apply a post care cream (Bepathen) with a cotton bud.

The first washing and post cream application is carried out about between 1/2 an hour - 1 hour after treatment is finished and then every 1-2 hours until the evening.

Before sleep, after washing and application of post care cream, apply a clear film over the eyebrows and attach it with a band or headscarf.

Day 2-14 Apply the post care cream to your eyebrows every 1-2 hours.

Applying the clear film is no longer necessary but you can still wash them if you wish for the 10 days.

The following must be avoided during 2-3 weeks after the procedure:

Swimming pools sunbathing tanning beds sauna

any invasive cosmetic surgery laser peels  Botox any creams with retin A or glycolic acid or aha's

any area a lot of dust and Debris

excessive touching, picking peeling or scratching the eyebrow area

if a scab does appear let it exfoliate out itself as this could lead to lifting the pigment from your eyebrow when showering apply some cream on to protect your eyebrows from the moisture during your shower keep face away from the shower head.

Itching flaking may appear during the first 7 days this is completely normal and will quickly disappear.

Try and not sleep face down for a few days and avoid putting any eyebrow make on for 10 days.
